Integrated rural development programme

Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) and its allied programmes of Training Rural Youth for Self-Employment (TRYSEM) and Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) scheme s a centrally sponsored scheme funded on 50:50 basis by the Centre and the states. The main aim of this government scheme is to augment the urban poor family income by assisting them with financial support by giving subsidies, skills programs and term credit by the financial institutions for income-generating activities.

Main Objective of IRDP Scheme

The main objective of the Integrated rural development program is to enable identified rural poor families and assist them to improve their family income by providing them subsidies, bank credit, skills development from various institutes so that they can become self-employed or get any employment on the basis of their skill, also this scheme is beneficial for farmers of India.  This will help poor people to cross the poverty line and become financially independent.

• The family should belong to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories
• Rural Artisans
• small and marginal farmers belonging to SCs/STs
• agricultural labourers
• physically handicapped persons
• freed bonded labour
• Economically backward classes (annual income < rs 11000)

IRDP Subsidy

All the target groups that belong from any above-mentioned category or beneficiary wise subsidy benefit whos complete detail as mentioned below:

 There is an assured coverage of 50 per cent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, 40 per cent for women and 3 per cent for the physically handicapped. Priority in assistance is also given to the families belonging to the assignees of ceiling surplus land, Green Card Holders covered under the Family Welfare Programme and freed bonded labourers.
